PatriciaPatricia joins the team as the Student Outreach Manager. She brings experience in EDI, having worked in the Student Accessibility and Achievement Office, SAA at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ as a Learning Resource/Access Advisor. She was part of the team that spearheaded the implementation of principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥. This process led to the first Pan-Canadian UDL conference in 2016, at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥. Patricia joins us from the recruitment team where she had worked as a Recruitment Officer since 2019.

Guided by UDL principles in her role with SAA, Patricia developed, implemented, and administered academic support services for students with disabilities and the wider student community. She held the position of VP for several years for the Association québécoise interuniversitaire des conseillers aux étudiants en situation de handicap (AQUICESH) where she co-led the team to widen access to education for students with disabilities.

Patricia approaches her work through empowerment, promoting self-advocacy, self-efficacy, and growth. She is an advocate of the importance of a balanced lifestyle as a role model to peers and students.

±«ÓãÖ±²¥ is on land that long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst
Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge
and thank the diverse Indigenous people whose footsteps have marked this territory on which
peoples of the world now gather.
