TROIS-RIVIERES - Olivier Babineau of Moncton, N.B., scored the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute of play as visiting ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ blanked the UQTR Patriotes 2-0 in men's university soccer, Sunday.

Alexander King, a freshman ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ from Detroit, tallied an insurance marker after redirecting a corner kick by Sami Obaid with three minutes to play.

Jean-Lou Gosselin, a 5-foot-10 keeper from Deux-Montagnes, Que., posted the shutout with four saves.

"It was an important win and solid defensive effort," said ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ head coach David Simon, in his second year behind the Redmen bench. "We finally have some good momentum going and hope to keep it for the remainder of the season."

±«ÓãÖ±²¥ had a decisive 24-6 edge in crosses, an 8-5 advantage on shots toward the net and a 5-3 difference in corners.
The result extended ±«ÓãÖ±²¥'s win streak to three and moved them into sole possession of third place in the tightly-packed seven-team Quebec conference with a 5-3-0 record, one point behind second-place UQAM (5-3-1) and three ahead of fourth-place Montreal (3-2-3).
The Redmen have four games remaining before the post-season begins. They will head to Quebec City on Friday before hosting the archrival Montreal Carabins on Sunday evening at Molson Stadium
