OTTAWA – Ann-Sophie Bettez of Sept-Iles, Que., scored once, added an assist and tied a Quebec university record with her 22nd goal of the season as No.1-ranked ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ extended their two-year win streak to 45 games with a 4-2 victory over Carleton in women’s hockey, Sunday.

It was also ±«ÓãÖ±²¥â€™s 32nd straight conquest over Carleton as the Martlets improved to 44-0-1 lifetime against the Ravens.

Bettez, a 21-year-old management sophomore, currently leads the QSSF conference scoring race and is ranked third in the nation, with a single-season league record 50 points in 16 games. She also holds the league’s assist record (28) and has now tied the conference mark for most goals (22) held since 1999-00 by Concordia’s Corinne Swirsky.

The Martlets, who are missing four players currently with Canada at the World University Games in China, led 2-0 after one period and 4-0 after two, outshot Carleton 28-24.

Bettez set up Keswick, Ont., native Jordanna Peroff for the game’s first goal at 5:45 and then scored at 14:11 to make it 2-0.

Jasmine Sheahan, a junior ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ from Mississauga, was credited with the game-winner when she notched her third of the season, on a power play, at 10:44 of the middle frame. Just 38 seconds later, sophomore Alessandra Lind-Kenney of Calgary, hit paydirt to put ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ ahead 4-0.

Kristen MacDonald of Osgoode, Ont., spoiled Labonté’s bid for a shutout with a pair of early third-period goals, including a power play goal. It marked the first time in league play this season that ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ had been beaten while killing off a penalty and ended their Quebec record streak of 55 consecutive kills.

Labonté, who improved her record to 13-0, earned an assist on the Bettez goal and now has nine career helpers with the Martlets, three more than the old Quebec conference record previously held by Kim St-Pierre, who tended nets for ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ from 1998 to 2004.

Ravens netminder Amanda Muhlig of Sarnia, Ont., was credited with 24 saves and took the loss, falling to 2-6.

±«ÓãÖ±²¥ (16-0) plays next at home to Ottawa (7-7-2) on Feb. 21, while the third-place Ravens (6-10-0) host Concordia (3-11-2) the same day.
