MONTREAL – Anthony Lukca, a senior with the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Redmen football team, is among 50 prospects that have been invited to showcase their skills at the 2009 CFL draft evaluation camp, March 6-8 at Varsity Stadium in Toronto.

The three-day event will take place in front of general managers, coaches and scouts from all teams as they prepare for the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft scheduled for Saturday, May 2.

Lukca, a 22-year-old physical education major from St. Laurent, Que., led the nation in tackles in 2007 and ranked second in 2008. The 5-foot-9, 186-pound defensive back and long-snapper has registered 180 total tackles, seven interceptions and three knockdowns in 29 career contests with the Redmen.

Among his tackles was 7.5 for loss and one quarterback sack. He also recorded five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one blocked punt.

The CFL prospects feature five players from NCAA schools and 45 from CIS institutions,  including 18 from the Ontario conference (OUA), 12 from Canada West, 11 from the Quebec league (QSSF) and four from the Atlantic conference (AUS).

The breakdown from Quebec schools include three apiece from Laval and Bishop's, two each from Montreal and Sherbrooke, and one from ±«ÓãÖ±²¥.
