MONTREAL – Freshman Yohann Capolungo, a 20-year-old ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ from France, and sophomore defender Axel Dovi of Hawkesbury, Ont., head a list of four ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ players to merit all-conference honours in the Quebec university men’s indoor soccer league.

Both were first-team selections after earning second-team status in the QUSL outdoor league last fall.

Capolungo was ±«ÓãÖ±²¥â€™s top sniper and ended up tied for second among the league goal-scoring leaders with three markers. He also added an assist to finish with four points in six games. Dovi tied for second among Redmen points leaders with a pair of assists.

Other ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ all-star picks were midfielders Eugene Graske, a biomedical science junior from Germany and Cory Marcon, an agricultural science freshman from Columbia, Maryland. They were both named to the second team in voting conducted by the league’s seven coaches.

The Redmen, who finished sixth in the indoor campaign with an 0-3-3 record, upset the third-place Montreal Carabins 2-1 in a conference quarterfinal before bowing to second-place Laval, with a 2-1 loss in the semifinals on March 21.

UQAM’s Paul Darboux was named as the league’s most outstanding player, while UQTR’s Ghislain Tapsoba was chosen as the most sportsmanlike player.
