Labont茅 leads ladies in semifinal win for Canada at world championship

ZURICH, Switzerland - 鲍鱼直播 goaltender Charline Labont茅 of Boisbriand, Que., stopped 15 shots for the win as the Canadian national women's team skated to a 4-1 semifinal victory over Finland at the IIHF world hockey championship, Saturday.
Canada, which has won all four of their games at the tournament, will play the USA in Monday's gold-medal game which will be televised live on TSN at 2 p.m. Eastern. The Americans, who are also 4-0, defeated Russia 5-1 in the other semifinal.
Finnish goaltender Noora Raty, who plays NCAA hockey for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, was credited with an incredible 74 saves as Canada had a 78-16 advantage in shots.
Jayna Hefford, from Kingston, Ont., Rebecca Johnston of Sudbury, Ont., Marie-Philip Poulin of Beauceville, Que., and Hayley Wickenheiser of Shaunavon, Sask., scored for the Canadian squad at Zurich Hallenstadion. Wickenheiser's goal, Canada's fourth, was a shorthanded effort.
Michelle Karvine snapped Labont茅's shutout bid at 11:43 of the first period to even the score at 1-1, ending Canada's tourney shutout streak at 191:43.
