Laval women master Martlets 77-55

QUEBEC CITY – Karine Bibeau of Victoriaville, Que., scored 15
points and was one of four Laval players to reach double figures in
scoring as the Rouge et Or defeated visiting ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ 77-55 in
women’s basketball at the PEPS Centre, Friday.
±«ÓãÖ±²¥â€™s Nathifa Weekes, a senior from Brossard, Que., netted a
game-high 16 points and now has 975 points in 97 career contests.
Freshman Anneth Him-Lazarenko of St. Dorothée, Que., added 15 in a
losing cause for the Martlets, who fell to 1-2.Â
Laval, which led 30-28 at halftime, outscored ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ 47-27 in the
second half. The Rouge et Or improved to 3-0 and will play a
return match at the Currie gym Saturday at 6 p.m.
