Miller and King named ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ - Ye Olde Orchard athletes of the week

MONTREAL -- Brianna Miller of Pte. Claire, Que., and Alexander King of Detroit, Mich., are the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ athletes of the week, sponsored by Ye Old Orchard Pub, for the period ending Sept. 18, 2011.

Miller, a 5-foot-5 fly-half on the women's rugby team, celebrated her 20th birthday on Sunday by scoring 23 points as ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ blanked Ottawa 38-0 at McKewen Field in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Que. The 20-year-old physical education sophomore scored three tries and added four conversions. Miller joined the Martlets last year after graduating from John Abbott College.

King, a 5-foot-11, 150-pound ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ on the Redmen soccer team, came off the bench in the second half on Sunday, to score twice - including the game-winner - and added an assist as 10th-ranked ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ rallied from a two-goal deficit to upset No.3-ranked Laval 3-2 at Quebec City. The 19-year-old environmental biology sophomore is a product of Cranbrook Kingswood high school in Detroit.
