Nicholas Kasirer appointed to Quebec’s Court of Appeal

The Faculty of Law was delighted to learn that ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Law professor Nicholas Kasirer has been appointed to the Court of Appeal of Quebec, the province’s highest court. His appointment is effective immediately.

The Honourable Nicholas Kasirer, BCL’85, LLB’85, is a James ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Professor of Law at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥, and served as Dean of Law from November 2003 to May 2009. After an extraordinary 20-year career at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥â€™s Faculty of Law, Kasirer will now put his unique combination of creativity and analytical prowess in the service of justice as a distinguished member of the Canadian judiciary.

While Nicholas Kasirer will be greatly missed, his colleagues and friends at the Faculty of Law are enormously proud of him, as he joins the Honourable Yves-Marie Morissette, another former ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Law professor and dean (1989-1994), whose intelligence and integrity have marked the decisions at the Court of Appeal of Quebec since 2002.

The Faculty of Law and ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ unite in warmly congratulating the Honourable Nicholas Kasirer as he enters a new phase of a remarkable life of public service.
