Oles and Verreault-Paul named ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Old Orchard athletes of the week

MONTREAL - MONTREAL - Leslie Oles of Beaconsfield, Que., and Francis Verreault-Paul of Mashteuiatsh, Que., are the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ - Ye Olde Orchard athletes of the week, for the period ending Mar. 11, 2012.

Oles, a 5-foot-3 ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ with the women's hockey team, was named to the CIS all-tournament team after tying for the tourney scoring lead with three goals, as ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ won two of three games to capture bronze at the CIS championship in Edmonton last weekend. The 21-year-old physical education sophomore sparked a three-goal outburst with a pair of third-period markers as ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ skated to a 4-0 victory over Alberta last Friday. She also scored the insurance goal in a 4-0 win over top-seeded Laurier in the bronze medal game on Sunday. Oles attended Kuper Academy before enrolling at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ in 2010.

Verreault-Paul, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ with the hockey Redmen, won the Jack Kennedy Trophy as the Harrow Sports player of the game in the Queen's Cup as ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ captured the OUA championship with a 4-1 victory at Western, Saturday. The 24-year-old psychology senior scored one goal and assisted on two others, including the game-winner. Prior to enrolling at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥, he attended College de Chicoutimi while playing junior hockey with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.
