MONTREAL - Jordanna Peroff of Keswick, Ont., scored three goals and had a pair of helpers as the top-ranked ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Martlets skated to a 6-2 triumph over Concordia at the Ed Meagher Arena, Sunday.

±«ÓãÖ±²¥, which outshot the Stingers 32-16, upped their win streak over Concordia to 39 consecutive games dating back to 2006.

Peroff, a fifth-year ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ majoring in leadership and religious studies, set up the game's first two goals by Leslie Oles of Beaconsfield, Que., and Ann-Sophie Bettez of Sept-Iles, Que., in the opening period. She then scored back-to-back markers early in the middle stanza to give the Martlets a 4-1 lead and completed her first career hat-trick on the power-play at 15:47 of the second period to make it 6-1.

It was the first three goals of the season for Peroff, who had gone 10 straight league games without scoring.

"It was a real confidence booster for Jordanna," said Martlets head coach Peter Smith. "She had much more jump to her step and I like to see that.

Bettez, her linemate, ended up with two goals and a pair of assists to take over the scoring lead in the Quebec-based RSEQ conference with 18 points, including eight goals.

Veronique Laramee-Paquette of Mt. Tremblant, Que., and Audrey Gariepy of Mascouche, Que., replied for the Stingers.

Charline Labonté recorded 14 saves and improved to 8-1 on the campaign, lowering her league-leading goals-against average to 1.47 and her save percentage to .925.

Marie-Pier Remillard, her counterpart at the opposite end of the ice, made 26 saves as her record fell to 3-8.

The Martlets went 2-for-4 on the power-play and have now connected on 14 of 57 chances over the season for a success rate of 24.6 per cent.

±«ÓãÖ±²¥, which improved to 10-1-0 in league play, now have a month-long break in their schedule before hosting fourth-ranked St. Francis Xavier, Manitoba and No.2-Laurier, respectively, at the inaugural Martlet Holiday Invitational Tournament, Dec, 28-30. The Stingers (3-8-0) are off until Dec. 26, when they depart for an exhibition tour of Japan.

MARTLET MURMURS - ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ has the top four scorers in the league... Joining Bettez atop the race is Oles (11-6-17), Melodie Daoust (4-11-15) and Katia Clement-Heydra (9-5-14)... Oles is tied for second among CIS goal-scoring leaders... Cathy Chartrand is ranked third among all CIS rearguards with 12 points (5 goals) in 11 games.
