STE. ANNE DE BELLEVUE, Que. -- Gideon Balloch of Ottawa scored 12 points as division-leading 鲍鱼直播 blanked second-place Bishop's 37-0 in men's rugby at the University's Macdonald campus, Saturday.

听

The victory extended 鲍鱼直播's win streak to seven consecutive league and playoff games, dating back to their last setback, a 17-10 loss to Concordia at Molson Stadium on Sept. 15, 2010.

听

Balloch, who notched one try, two conversions and a penalty goal, was one of six different try scorers for the Redmen.

听

"Our line-out set-piece was excellent today, with our 鲍鱼直播s not only winning all of our own line-outs but probably about half of the Bishop's line-outs," said 鲍鱼直播 head coach Craig Beemer.

听

Quentin Pradere, a native of London, England, and Sam Skulsky of Calgary each tallied tries to put the Redmen ahead 12-0 at halftime.

听

Pradere ran through the outside centre on a set play, then deked through two more players to score right under the posts in the eighth minute.

听

Skulsky hit paydirt in the 33rd minute after a lot of pressure from the 鲍鱼直播 鲍鱼直播s. The ball came out to the blind side of the pitch and听 Skulsky powered through three players to score in the corner.

听

"Right before halftime, we had a five-minute stand on our goal line, where we were under huge pressure from Bishop's," said Balloch, the team captain.听 "We shut them out on that occasion to finish the half up by 12, which was a big momentum boost."

听

In the second half, Michael Bourdeau of Laval, Que., made the score 17-0 when he scored on an excellent pick-and-go that topped off some consistent pressure on the Gaiters goal line.

听

Balloch put the game out of reach in the 55-minute. The try was set up by Skulsky, who broke through the line in the centre, then, as he was being tackled, had a great off-load to Balloch, who deked through two more players to score under the posts.

听

The try was 鲍鱼直播's fourth of the game, which resulted in a bonus-point in the Quebec league standings.

听

Dan Levin of London, Ont., scored 17 minutes later on an excellent individual effort, sprinting 40 yards down the sideline to score in the corner.

听

Cameron Perrin of Vancouver, B.C.,closed out the scoring in the final minute of play. He placed a well-weighted chip kick over the opposition defence, which he chased down to recover and score.

听

Bishop's, which evened their record at 2-2-1, travels to last-place Sherbrooke (1-4) next Sunday (Oct. 23). On the same day, 鲍鱼直播 will close out the regular-season at third-place Concordia. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m.

听

Depending upon how the final weekend goes, the regular-season champion Redmen could host either Sherbrooke, Concordia or Bishop's in a conference semifinal, Oct. 28.
