MONTREAL - A capacity crowd is expected when the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ men's hockey team plays host to the Carleton Ravens in the 10th annual Management Winter Carnival Game at McConnell Arena on Friday at 7 p.m.

Ìý

About 200 tickets remain on sale for the "hockey event of the year" on campus and they can be purchased during regular business hours at the Redbird Sports Shop, located inside the Currie Gym, at 475 Pine Avenue West. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors. Children 12-and under are admitted free.

The Carnival Game, is a century old tradition that was dormant for a decade before being revived in 2003. ÌýSince then, the Redmen have won nine in a row, including last year's affair, which attracted 1,355 fans to McConnell Arena, which seats 950, not including standing room. The Carnival Game attendance record is 1,804 in 2007.

With only eight games remaining before playoffs, the Redmen are ranked No.2 in Canada with a league-leading 16-2-2 record. But ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ can't afford an off night as they only stand one point ahead of second-place UQTR (16-5-1). Carleton is fourth in the OUA East, with an 11-7-2 record.

The Redmen are finally healthy after an injury-plagued first semester that featured nine players who missed games with various ailments. A capsule look at the Redmen follows:

Ìý

All-Canadian Marc-Andre Dorion, the top-scoring rearguard in the CIS, is ranked eighth in the OUA scoring race with 31 points, including six goals, in 20 games.

Ìý

Explosive sniper Francis Verreault-Paul, who has missed five contests, is hot and has 15 goals in 13 games. He is only four markers shy of leading the country for the third straight season in that department.

Ìý

Max Langelier-Parent, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound speedster who is arguably the team's best pro prospect, has tallied four of his six goals while shorthanded and leads the nation in that category. His next "shorty" will tie the team's single-season record and would also be the 10th SHG of his career, tying the team's all-time record.

Goaltenders Hubert Morin, a senior, and Mark Segal, a freshman, have been rotating all year and are ranked second and third among OUA leaders, respectively. Morin has posted an 8-3 record with two shutouts, a 2.16 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. Segal is 8-1 with one whitewash, a 2.21 GAA and a .927 save percentage.
