Soccer Redmen fall in Old Four final

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs men's soccer teamÌýedged ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ 2-1 in the Old Four soccer tournament final on Sunday at TD Waterhouse Stadium.

Sophomore Pat Mroczek of St. Catharines, Ont., scoredÌýat eight-minute mark for Western and Niko Mavrikos made it 2-0 with the game-winner in the 82nd minute.

±«ÓãÖ±²¥ poured on the pressure and finally broke the goose-egg in the 89th minute with a goal from Yohann Capolungo, a sophomore from France, but the Redmen ran out of time.

"We got off to a bad start," said Redmen head coach David Simon. "Western was much bigger and played a more physical style and we were unable to respond to the challenge. However, we made some adjustments at halftime and pushed ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ but ran out of time."

Queen's edged Toronto 2-1 in the men's consolation final.
