Congratulations to Professor Arvind Karunakaran who was presented with the 2019 William H. Newman Award at this year鈥檚 Academy of Management.

Of twenty shortlisted candidates, Professor Karunakaran is one of two winners, securing the distinction for his paper, "Front-Line Professionals in the Wake of Digital Scrutiny: The Paradox of Public Accountability,鈥 which was submitted to Organizational Communications and Information Systems.

Professor Arvind Karunakaran is the recipient of the Industry Studies Association 2019 Emerging Scholar in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award, which recognizes his contributions made in the article, 鈥淔ront-line Professionals in the Wake of Increased Digital Scrutiny: Examining the Paradox of Public Accountability.鈥

He will officially receive the award at the 2019 Industry Studies Annual Conference, taking place from May 30-June 1, 2019.

Arvind Karunakaran, Assistant Professor of Strategy & Organization was presented with the Best Dissertation Award at the 2018 International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), the premiere event of its kind.

The award was granted in recognition of his dissertation completed at MIT Sloan School of Management entitled, Truce Structures: Examining Cross-Professional Coordination in the Wake of Technological and Institutional Change.
