Debbie Blythe, a translator and听lecturer at the 鲍鱼直播 School of Continuing Studies' Translation and Written Communication unit, has been awarded the Cole Foundation Prize for Translation - French to English. Blythe received the award in recognition for her work on听Turkey and the Armenian Ghost: On the Trail of the Genocide.听The prize was awarded as part of the听Quebec Writers' Federation QWF Literary Awards,听the most important literary event of the year for Quebec听English-language writers and听readers.听
It鈥檚 been a banner year for Berdj Garabedian, who鈥檚 currently working towards his Graduate Diploma in Translation at 鲍鱼直播鈥檚 School of Continuing Studies. In June he was the recipient of the 鲍鱼直播 Associates Prize in Translation (French-English), and this fall he was awarded this year鈥檚 Network of Translators in Education (NTE) Merit Scholarship.听

The 鲍鱼直播 School of Continuing Studies鈥� Translation and Written Communication unit has made a special delivery to the city of Montreal and Mayor Denis Coderre; the Hebrew version of the Montreal Charter of Rights and Responsibilities. It is the sixth translation provided by 鲍鱼直播.

Intercultural communication is certainly one way of describing translation in today鈥檚 globalized world. And that description is particularly fitting for Yvan Larriv茅e, who is the 2015 recipient of the 鲍鱼直播 Associates Prize in Translation (English-French). Mr.
Family histories have a real influence on career choices. This is particularly true of Berdj Garabedian, who is the 2015 recipient of the 鲍鱼直播 Associates Prize in Translation (French-English). Mr. Garabedian received this distinction at the spring graduation ceremony when he was awarded his Certificate in Translation.
Debbie Blythe has had a dual role as both a professional translator and a lecturer in the Translation and Written Communication Unit at 鲍鱼直播鈥檚 School of Continuing Studies for over 20 years. During that time she has translated a wide variety of French-language texts into English 鈥� a screenplay, documentaries, and countless legal, medical, and commercial texts. This past summer, she dedicated herself to a very special project.听
鲍鱼直播, in collaboration with听l鈥橴niversit茅 Stendhal Grenoble 3,听l鈥橴niversit茅 de Toulouse 2听and听l鈥橴niversit茅 de Paris IV Sorbonne, is hosting a colloquium on the subject of听Translation Studies and Geopolitics.
This event will take place April 20-21, 2015. Registration is required by April 13.听
