Dr. Reza Alizadehfar, Associate Professor in the Division of Allergy, Immunology and Dermatology in the Department of Pediatrics, on receiving the national prestigious John Toogood Teaching Award from the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (CSACI).

The John Toogood Teaching Award is presented to a CSACI member in recognition of his or her exemplary teaching in the field of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. To be considered for this award, the candidate should be actively involved in teaching trainees and demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring.

A new study examining the link between peanut and tree-nut anaphylaxis in children and holidays found spikes at Halloween and Easter. The , led by a team of researchers from the Montreal Children’s Hospital of the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Health Centre (MCH-MUHC), found that most were previously unknown allergies, calling for increased awareness.

Dr. Adrian Dancea has been appointed to a third and final mandate as Division Director of Pediatric Cardiology with the term to commence on July 1, 2020.

A medical graduate of the University of Ottawa, Dr. Dancea completed his pediatric residency and cardiology subspecialty training at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ and the Montreal Children's Hospital (MCH). Along the way he also picked up a Physician Executive MBA (University of Tennessee). An accomplished interventional pediatric cardiologist (training at UCSF), Dr. Dancea has led his Division since 2009.
