Biography: 

Dr. Julia Cohen-Levy has been an Assistant Professor of Orthodontics in the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences since 2020. She is a certified specialist in Orthodontics, having graduated from both the Université de Paris 7 in France (CECSMO 2004) and Université de Montréal (DES 2020). She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and European Society of Lingual Orthodontics.

In addition to her clinical involvement with patients, she is committed to research activities in the field of dental sleep medicine, clinical orthodontics and imaging. She holds a PhD and a postdoctoral fellowship in Obstructive Sleep Apnea, as well as a Master's degree in Medical Law.

Dr. Julia Cohen-Levy has been the Course Director of Orthodontics for undergraduate dental medicine (3rd and 4th years) and she is an Associate Director of the Division of Orthodontics. Involved in the clinical supervision of students as well as their academic training, she received the W.W. Wood Award for Excellence in Dental Education in 2022.

In 2024 Dr. Cohen-Levy was named Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Dental Education. She assists in matters related to the undergraduate dental curriculum and evaluation, the administration of academic policy and curriculum development for the undergraduate dental programs (DENT-P, DMD). She works to ensure that courses are complete, current, and meet all accreditation standards and that all Faculty and University regulations are followed. Dr. Julia Cohen-Levy is also the co-Chair of Admissions and responsible for ensuring that the undergraduate program prepares students to become competent dentists who are qualified to take examinations for licensure.
