Employers often cite a lack of female candidates as a barrier to achieving gender parity in the workplace. Yet, that can overlook an important factor – the alienation of women during the hiring process. “A lack of belonging can set in at the first stage of recruitment, and follow women throughout their careers,” says PhD student Janani Ramesh in an interview with HR Reporter. Four EMBA scholarship recipients who are making an impact

The ��ֱ��-HEC Montréal EMBA Program recently welcomed the class of 2020, which includes four experienced leaders who, each in their own way, have a significant impact on their respective communities.

Each of them was awarded a $50,000 scholarship, which recognizes their important work and reflects the EMBA program’s commitment to diversity. The scholarship recipients include those from the non-profit and indigenous communities, which also provides important different perspectives in class.

Dean Isabelle Bajeux was invited by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (CCCJ) to share her thoughts on the value of a diverse workplace that incorporates the perspective of women at higher levels, particularly in the finance sector.

While women are increasingly represented at universities, in the business world, they tend to hold positions at lower levels and are underrepresented in high-ranking roles, remarks Dean Bajeux.
