The Graduate Diploma (Grad. Dip.) in Oncology offered by the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is a course-based program that emphasizes in-depth and engaging learning opportunities. Our comprehensive and innovative program offers a specialized and practical curriculum designed to equip students with advanced skills in oncology.

Unique Program Features

  • The one-year program (2 semesters) can be springboard for a Master’s in Experimental Surgery (Non-Thesis);
  • Students benefit from exposure to the principles and practice of oncology as well as its research domains while exploring in more detail one of four areas of focus: Population and Global Cancer Control, Psychosocial Oncology/Palliative Care, Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer Care Services and Quality;
  • The practicum project immerses students in a real-world research or quality improvement project with relevance to their chosen area of focus;
  • Students also gain practical experience by participating in the development of grant applications, experimental design, protocol development, participant screening, data collection, data analysis, literature reviews, quality improvement design, implementation or assessment.

University-Level Admission Requirements

  • An eligible Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA out of a possible 4.0 GPA
  • English-language proficiency
