Many of the eggs were collected from remote rocky islands surrounded by some of the world’s roughest seas.

In all, they collected 537 eggs from six species, including ancient murrelets, rhinoceros auklets and double-crested cormorants. Now these eggs are revealing new information about the way mercury finds its way into the ecosystem.
Fri, 24 Nov 2017 14:48:04 +0000 hcrphoto.macdonald@mcgill.ca 53045 at /macdonald Course Evaluations matter... evaluate your courses! /macdonald/channels/event/course-evaluations-matter-evaluate-your-courses-282559
MERCURY Course Evaluations will be available to students until December 23 for units following the default period (or until December 7 for units following the condensed period).
Wed, 08 Nov 2017 19:01:01 +0000 hcrphoto.macdonald@mcgill.ca 53015 at /macdonald Bacteria control levels of dangerous pollutant in seabirds /macdonald/channels/news/bacteria-control-levels-dangerous-pollutant-seabirds-264866
Despite ongoing global pollution, researchers Kyle Elliott (Natural Resource Sciences) and John Elliott (Environment Canada) have discovered that levels of mercury in seabirds off the coast of B.C. have remained relatively stable over the past 50 years. Surprisingly, mercury in seabirds is now actually slightly lower.
Wed, 21 Dec 2016 15:14:04 +0000 katherine.maclean@mcgill.ca 52593 at /macdonald
