±«ÓãÖ±²¥-Queen's Press agreement extended

Principals Bernard J. Shapiro of ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ and William C. Leggett of QueenÂ’s University are pleased to announce the signing of an agreement to continue the partnership of the two institutions in support of ²Ñ³¦³Ò¾±±ô±ô-²Ï³Ü±ð±ð²ÔÂ’²õ University Press, one of North AmericaÂ’s leading scholarly publishers in the humanities and social sciences. The new agreement extends the current contract governing press operations until the spring of 2006, and re-affirms the appointment of Philip J. Cercone as executive director and senior editor (Montreal office) and of Donald Harman Akenson as senior editor (Kingston office).

In a period of great change in the book publishing industry worldwide, ²Ñ³¦³Ò¾±±ô±ô-²Ï³Ü±ð±ð²ÔÂ’²õ has seen its award-winning list grow to over 100 new titles per year. Recent activities include acquiring the entire list of Carleton University Press (including the ongoing Carleton Library Series), launching the Hugh MacLennan Poetry series, and distributing the English-language titles of Septentrion books (Quebec City). ²Ñ³¦³Ò¾±±ô±ô-²Ï³Ü±ð±ð²ÔÂ’²õ also distributes the publications of the influential QueenÂ’s University School of Policy Studies.
