Those are among the symptoms of Spinocerebellar ataxia type 6, known as SCA6, a rare neurodegenerative disease which typically appears in adulthood and worsens over time. That’s why plant disease surveillance, improved detection systems, and global predictive disease modeling are necessary to mitigate future disease outbreaks and protect the global food supply, according to a team of researchers in a new commentary published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Mon, 17 May 2021 16:18:09 +0000 shirley.cardenas@mcgill.ca 265897 at /newsroom Christopher Moraes /newsroom/christopher-moraes Mon, 14 Sep 2020 20:22:41 +0000 shirley.cardenas@mcgill.ca 239299 at /newsroom Same gene can encode proteins with divergent functions /newsroom/channels/news/same-gene-can-encode-proteins-divergent-functions-258507
By Cynthia Lee, ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Newsroom

It’s not unusual for siblings to seem more dissimilar than similar: one becoming a florist, for example, another becoming a flutist, and another becoming a physicist.
Thu, 11 Feb 2016 16:17:27 +0000 nima.adibpour@mail.mcgill.ca 25278 at /newsroom Alzheimer Awareness Month /newsroom/channels/news/alzheimer-awareness-month-240926 Mon, 05 Jan 2015 19:10:53 +0000 raphael.larocque-cyr@mcgill.ca 21783 at /newsroom New network in medical physics /newsroom/channels/news/new-network-medical-physics-229830 Mon, 12 Aug 2013 15:01:06 +0000 brenda.chang@mail.mcgill.ca 18997 at /newsroom ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ researchers link mutation to psychiatric disease /newsroom/channels/news/mcgill-researchers-link-mutation-psychiatric-disease-218499 Wed, 10 Oct 2012 16:52:20 +0000 joy.wang@mail.mcgill.ca 11971 at /newsroom
