Kristina Öhrvall promoted to Assistant Vice-Principal, Research Development

Martha Crago, Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation, announced today that Kristina Öhrvall has been promoted to Assistant Vice-Principal, Research Development, for a five-year term.

Previously the Director of Strategic Initiatives within Research and Innovation, Öhrvall brings substantial experience working within the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ research community to her new function. The mandate of the newly created position will be to raise the overall level of research activity by acting as an agent of change, driving continuous improvements in how ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ identifies, develops, proposes, and supports large-scale strategic research initiatives.

In this new position, Öhrvall will oversee the development of high-value proposals and funding agreements as well as their related project management, reporting, and analysis structures. She will also represent the University on certain committees externally and will monitor the research landscape in order to work with the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ research community to develop strategic projects proactively in response to opportunities.

Öhrvall joined ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ in 2012. Prior to that, she worked at Concordia University also in research administration. Trained as an environmental engineer, she holds a Master of Science degree from Sweden’s LuleÃ¥ University of Technology.
