Sociologie (Arts) : This seminar focuses on how social groups enforce rules (and maintain social order) through coercion and socialization. It reviews current research and critiques key theoretical approaches to social control. Included are discussions of regulating institutions such as prisons and mental asylums, and the roles of gossip, manners and etiquettes.
