Linking Action and Research on Sustainability (LARS) brown bag lunch series presents: "Creating your academic personal website"!

Tuesday, November 25, 2014 12:00to13:00
Thomson House Room 404, 3650 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 1Y2, CA

Linking Action and Research on Sustainability (LARS) is a joint initiative of ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ professors Elena Bennett and Catherine Potvin and funded by the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Sustainability Projects Fund. Our main goal is to give visibility to ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ researchers (profs, graduate students, postdocs) working on positive contributions to sustainability. To do that, we help researchers create videos and we offer a series of brown bag lunches in science communication and outreach.

"Creating your personal academic website" is a one-hour hands-on workshop for grad students and postdocs. Researchers who have created their own website highly recommend it as a way of advertising themselves, increasing their online visibility, engaging with people of the general public and framing their research in a tangible way. If you lack the time to get started or want to avoid learning the nuts and bolts of web design on your own, this hands-on training is for you!
