Japanese prints /vacollection/taxonomy/term/157/all en Japanese Prints in Bronfman /vacollection/exhibitions/japanese-prints-bronfman <p>Located in Bronfman building, on the fourth floor, is a selection of Japanese prints from the twentieth century by internationally acclaimed artists Toko Shinoda and Haku Maki. Toko Shinoda (1913-) is known for her unique prints and paintings in sumi ink, both of which merge traditional calligraphy with modern abstract expressionism. Haku Maki (1924 – 2000) was a self-trained artist whose prints stand out for their unique texture and <i>Kanji </i>(adopted Chinese characters used in Japanese) motifs.</p> Wed, 23 Oct 2019 17:13:52 +0000 rachel.vincent-clarke@mail.mcgill.ca 1303 at /vacollection
