Exchange Students

You will be living in Montreal during your studies at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥; therefore you will not be considered a non-resident, you will be a temporary resident and it is mandatory for you to be covered under the International Student Health Insurance(IHI).*Ìý

All students are automatically charged a full-year °ù²¹³Ù±ðÌýfor the International Health Insurance.ÌýAs an exchange student, in order for your premium to be adjusted one or two-term rate, you mustÌýactivateÌýyourÌýhealth insurance coverage onÌýMinerva as of August 1st (for Fall term admits) orÌýDecember 1st (for Winter** term admits). Doing so will also allow you to view and save your IHI card.

*Students who meet certain criteria may be eligible for an exemption. The list of exemption categories can be found under Eligibility for Exemption. Please noteÌýthat exchange students covered by private insurance OR their home university's health insurance planÌýare not exempt from the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ plan.ÌýExemption requests must be done on Minerva by specified deadlines.

**Availability to access the IHI form is dependent on when your registration for classes becomes available on Minerva, which changes from one year to another.

Please note that exchange students areÌýnotÌýeligible to opt-in to ±«ÓãÖ±²¥'s dental plan.
