The Goodman family: committed to cancer research

Rosalind and Morris Goodman - Owen Egan

In 2008, Rosalind and Morris Goodman made a transformative multi-million dollar gift to support the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Cancer Centre, which was renamed the Goodman Cancer Research Centre (GCRC) in their honour (renamed the Goodman Cancer Institute in 2021). Not only did their support allow ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ to bring together more than 300 leading cancer researchers, students, and staff in a new state-of-the-art facility, but it also cemented the University’s status as a leading strategic hub for innovative research. Rosalind fought and survived cancer in 2007, but ultimately it took her life in 2014. As a tireless volunteer, Rosalind’s ability to energize cancer research activities at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ and educate others about the disease continues to inspire our daily work. Morris Goodman remains a passionate driving force behind annual GCRC activities, including its popular public lecture series as well as biennial galas to raise cancer research funding.
