2025 Admissions

External Review

The ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is committed to offering the highest standards of excellence in health sciences education, including in its admissions process and all other supporting activities. External reviews are essential in the carrying out of the Faculty’s mission and in continuously improving what we do.

External reviews that are mandated by the Faculty are normally carried out by a two-person team, including an external reviewer and recognized leader in the area and an internal reviewer. The process comprises a series of interviews with key stakeholders who offer relevant and crucial points of view, impact and interest, as well as a self-study of the program or activities. The format, agenda and participants must be approved by the VP (Health Affairs) and Dean, who is a participant in the process at the introductory meeting and the debriefing session. Upon conclusion, the reviewers submit a formal report identifying areas of strengths, opportunities for improvement and recommendations for action.

In the fall of 2013, the Faculty requested an external review of the ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences admissions process. This was conducted by Dr. Harold Reiter, Assistant Dean and Professor, Department of Oncology, as well as Director, Program for Educational Research and Development, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University, together with Dr. Armand Aalamian, Medical Chief, Mental Health Services, CSSS de la Montagne and Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, ±«ÓãÖ±²¥. The external review report is available below in its entirety.
