Faith-based group support for Muslim students

The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life partners with trained wellness facilitators at ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ who come from relevant cultural and faith backgrounds to help ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ students manage the spiritual and emotional distress surrounding events in the Middle East, in the news or social media.

This group is for students who identify as Muslim across the faith and cultural spectrum, including different branches and levels of observance.

Format

Online via Teams. Group discussion is facilitated by ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ wellness professionals and supported by MORSL staff with special contributions from one of MORSL's volunteer Muslim faith leaders.

The group is grounded in the principles of confidentiality and mutual respect. Therefore, ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ credentials will be required to participate and you will not be permitted to record any part of the sessions. Once you sign up, you will receive a Teams invite. On the day of the session, you may log onto Teams using your ±«ÓãÖ±²¥ student credentials, and the facilitators will let you into the virtual session after confirming your identity. Once you join the session, your name will be visible on the screen. However, we ask that all members of the group respect each other’s privacy and refrain from sharing names and identities outside of the session.

Each session is unique.  You may attend one, some, or all sessions.
