Join us for a tour of the historic Osler Library!

The Osler Library of the History of Medicine opened in 1929 to house the collection of rare medical and other books donated by Sir William Osler, the renowned physician and ֱ graduate and professor. Today the collection has grown to over 100 000 works including older, rare materials as well as current books and periodicals about the history of the health sciences and related areas.

This lecture will explore how both true and apocryphal stories have shaped public perceptions of science, scientific discovery, and its most iconic figures. Through this exploration, the lecture will emphasize the power of anecdotes as literary devices, revealing how they serve as intersections between philosophical ideas and the narratives through which science is understood.
